Welcome to our home on the web..
Due to the slowdown of kart racing in the last couple of years due to cost increases and the price of fuel to get to these events and people just having to tighten their belts in general, we have decided to try a new series of economical karting by using the Honda clone engine that starts out with 6.5 HP. As you have probably noticed on the majority of karting web sites, there is a great interest in this form of economical racing. Harbor Freight has these engines on sale for 129 dollars plus freight, and that is a downright bargain. These engines coupled with an older kart frame and a set of tires and a few other odds and ends can bring an affordable, competitive, fun form of racing back to the weekend racers.
Our goal is to promote this form of economical racing with some of the necessary components needed to make this engine race ready without breaking the bank account of the average racer. The engine in its current form needs a better exhaust, better filtration, and a way to connect it to your foot throttle.
These are the parts we plan to provide at the lowest possible prices to increase the kart count at tracks wanting to try this newest form of racing series. It’s not surprising that the interest has been very high and the tracks that have already introduced this form of racing have enjoyed a great success in bringing the cost conscience karters back to the track. This I feel is needed to bring karting to its former glory and allow us to have more fun with the numbers needed to have an enjoyable race. Tracks now need to combine classes to have a decent number of karts in each race, and hopefully with this new class or series, we can do this just by bringing the cost down to affordable levels.
A lot of people don’t like the idea of the foreign engine coming to the tracks near you, but if you look at the common engine, the Briggs, it is also a foreign built engine. We are just going to have to accept that to get the costs down to acceptable levels; we are going to have to make changes. These changes seem to be the change to the Honda clone with its inexpensive price tag, along with a few components to make it race ready.
This is where Pulse Racing comes in. We plan to have all the parts and designed components required to make this engine a successful racing engine. We have a modified exhaust, a filter adaptor to allow the use of the standard racing filter, and a throttle kit to make it possible to hook it up to a foot throttle.
We also plan on stocking and supplying all the other parts needed to complete the drive train at affordable prices. For instance, we plan on stocking Noram GE series of clutches, Max-Torque clutches, clutch guards, filters/foamies/Outerwears, to protect your engine, and add parts as we see the need for them
One of the things we are working on is a manifold that will allow the use of a remote fuel tank for the tracks that allow it and for other forms of racing, like the barstool racers, who prefer a remote fuel tank.
One of the things we do not plan on providing, is performance parts to increase the power of these engines. We believe they have enough power to provide fast, competitive racing, without adding more expense to the engine. We also do not want to overextend the abilities of this engine and make it unsafe. So you will not find any HP increasing parts here on this site, although we may refer people that want to improve the performance of this engine to other sites as this engine is capable of putting out much more HP. Our goal though is to keep costs down and keep it safe and above all, keep it fun!
